The Soil Science Society of North Carolina is organizing educational opportunities for high school students interested in soil science topics such as:
Soil chemistry
Soil surveys
Water movement
Career pathways in soil and environmental sciences
We’re seeking members who are interested in volunteering to speak, present, or help coordinate events this fall or spring (2025). This may include classroom visits or regional soil education days (e.g., in the Triangle or Western NC).
The Society also shares career and internship opportunities across North Carolina to help connect students, professionals, and employers within the soil science community. Listings may include:
Entry-level and experienced professional positions
Internships and seasonal field work
Research and graduate assistantships
Shadowing or mentoring opportunities
